CALGARY - As offensive co-ordinator of the Denver Broncos, Mike McCoy worked wonders with Kyle Orton and Tim Tebow. So, imagine the excitement when Peyton Manning signed with the NFL squad. Like a kid at Christmas? You bet. "You get an opportunity to play with a guy like this, it's a dream come true for a coaching staff," McCoy said when reached in Denver by phone this week. "Whenever you get players, you want to get the best, and he's the best in the business. "Guys like this don't come around too often. We're making the most of it." The Broncos (12-3) are Super Bowl contenders, riding a 10-game winning streak, have already clinched the AFC West and will clinch a playoff bye by defeating the 2-13 Kansas City Chiefs Sunday. Manning, who signed a five-year, US$96-million contract when he joined the Broncos, is having one of the great bounce-back seasons in NFL history, leading the way after missing the 2011 campaign due to serious neck issues. |
