Forzani catches Stamps' injury bug
By IAN BUSBY, QMI Agency
CALGARY - Every time the Calgary Stampeders suit up, they lose someone to the injury bug.
Saturday's victory over the Winnipeg Blue Bombers is no different, and it's the receiving corps taking a hit.
Wideout Johnny Forzani was diagnosed with a high-ankle sprain suffered early in the third quarter of a 32-21 victory over the Bombers. He's headed for an MRI, but he's officially out Saturday against the Hamilton Tiger-Cats.
Marquay McDaniel left with a hamstring injury and will be questionable to face his former team.
"I want to be smart," McDaniel said.
"I want to be ready for the playoffs. I won't be pushing just to get into this game."
The Stamps have some options to replace Forzani. Arjei Franklin is back practising and should be available to return from his knee injury, while Anthony Parker is also an option.
Stamps head coach John Hufnagel also expects returner Larry Taylor to be in pads this week, along with left tackle Edwin Harrison and centre Jon Gott.
