The Calgary Stampeders are going to be represented at the NFLís Pro Bowl this weekend.
Seattle Seahawks cornerback Brandon Browner, who played four seasons with the Stamps (2007-10), was elevated from alternate status to the annual all-star tilt when San Francisco 49ers corner Carlos Thomas backed out due to injury.
Browner signed with the Seahawks a year ago after three straight seasons as an all-Canadian with the Stamps.
The 27-year-old won a starting job in training camp with the Seahawks, and he played all 16 games for the NFC West Division team.
There were no shortage of big plays from Browner. He was responsible for the winning touchdown against the New York Giants in Week 5 when he returned an interception 94 yards.
Then on Dec. 1, he recorded two interceptions as the Seahawks beat the Philadelphia Eagles.
ďIím grateful that my peers and coaches recognized what I was doing,Ē Browner told the Seattle Times when he was announced as a Pro Bowl alternate.
