CALGARY - It’s arguably the most offence the Edmonton Eskimos have generated in the past few weeks.
But Calgary Stampeders boss John Hufnagel doesn’t seem too concerned.
Perhaps attempting to rev up the provincial rivalry before Monday’s Labour Day Classic, the Eskimos purchased a billboard just outside McMahon Stadium on Crowchild Trail, hanging a sign that shows a green-clad Eskies fan riding on the back of a Stamps supporter on all fours.
The billboard screams, ‘EE-Hawww! See you Monday Stamps fans.’
During Wednesday’s media session at McMahon Stadium, Hufnagel admitted he’d seen a photo of the advertisement but wasn’t paying much attention to the off-field marketing move.
“I have other problems to think about than a goofy billboard sign,” Hufnagel said.
Monday’s matchup pits the first-place Stamps (6-2) against an Eskimos squad that has lost three in a row but remains near the top of the West Division at 5-3.
