CALGARY - Tim St. Pierre is counting on a bit of tech support. The Calgary Stampeders’ special-teams ace is sporting a bandage on his forehead after losing a chunk of skin during training camp drills, not necessarily the look he was planning for TSN’s annual promo shoot and individual photo day Tuesday. “The guy said he was going to be nice to me and do the little touch-up afterward. Hopefully, he can make me look good,” St. Pierre said. “The lady offered to give me some cover-up, but I couldn’t do that. I couldn’t go that low, so I’ll leave it to the tech guy to take care of me.” St. Pierre, who spent three seasons with the Edmonton Eskimos before signing with the Red & White this winter, is learning the ins and outs of the fullback position. The 25-year-old has always earned his paycheques at linebacker, but he figures he might now have a future on the other side of the ball. “It’s kind of fun, actually,” St. Pierre said. “You know where the ball is going, so you can just tee up and go. At linebacker, you’ve got to read a bit. Here, you just tee up and go full speed.” Injury update Nik Lewis skipped Tuesday’s morning workout at McMahon Stadium, complaining of tightness in his legs. The Stampeders’ star slotback was back in action for about an hour in the afternoon but didn’t finish the session. “I wanted to practise,” Lewis said. “I hate sitting out here and not practising. You see people get tired, and I feel bad, and I know that’s a domino effect — when you don’t practice, somebody else has to take more reps — so I feel like it’s my duty to come out here and practise. Anytime I can get out here and try to do something, I will. (The leg’s) just tight.” Right guard Dimitri Tsoumpas (hamstring) missed both of Tuesday’s workouts, while running back LaMarcus Coker (contusion) was a no-go in the afternoon, limping around with an ice-pack strapped to his right leg. Defensive lineman Ian DeGannes-Shaw (hamstring) also hobbled off the field during the late practice. Extra points With three two-a-day sessions in the books, the Stamps will get a bit of a reprieve on Wednesday, practising just once … The team released R Tyrre Burks and DB Mark Holden … OL Zac Carlson is hoping to receive a new passport Wednesday and will be boarding the first possible flight to Calgary.
