Burris tees it up

Yeah, the tee-time is a bit frightening.
The first to admit he’s better equipped to drive an offence than drive a golf ball, Calgary Stampeders quarterback Henry Burris will kick off his sixth annual all-star weekend with a golf tournament on — of all days — Friday the 13th.
“Hopefully, I won’t hit any homes,” Burris said. “Hopefully, I won’t hit any golfers.”
Now entering its sixth year, Burris’ annual all-star weekend has become a big hit in Calgary.
The two-day event, which runs May 13-14, includes a golf tournament, a football camp for kids and a gala, known as the Endzone Experience, with all proceeds going to Big Brothers and Big Sisters of Calgary and Area.
The headliner for this year’s event is former Toronto Argonauts star Michael (Pinball) Clemons. Burris has also invited current Stamps teammates Joffrey Reynolds, Juwan Simpson and Ken-Yon Rambo, and although he took a couple of playful swipes at the Saskatchewan Roughriders during Wednesday’s press conference, he expects Darian Durant and Chris Getzlaf to attend, too.
“You start to get all the athletes that you’re going to be with and against all in one room, all in one city for the right cause,” Burris said. “We’re actually out having a great time without having to worry about beating each other and talking to trash to each other, but we’re having fun and doing it all for a good cause.”
