The Calgary Stampeders are going to Moncton.
As part of the CFL schedule that will be announced at 10 a.m. MTN Friday morning, Touchdown Atlantic II will be unveiled.
The Stamps will open the season July 1 at home against the Toronto Argonauts, while the Labour Day Classic against the Edmonton Eskimos is moved back to the traditional 2:30 p.m. kickoff.
The Stamps will be travelling to the Maritimes to face the Hamilton Tiger-Cats Sept. 25.
Last year, the Edmonton Eskimos beat the Toronto Argonauts 24-6 in front of 20,725 fans in Moncton in what was deemed a successful first regular-season venture in the region.
The game sold out in just 36 hours, and this year’s ticket details have yet to be released.
“Time will tell whether we are expanding our footprint in the region, or in a position to consider actual expansion to Atlantic Canada,” said CFL commissioner Mark Cohon.
“What we do know is the first Scotiabank Touchdown Atlantic was a huge hit, and working with our civic and corporate partners in the region, we’re going to strive to make Scotiabank Touchdown Atlantic Two even better.”
