Maybe the record curse is what ailed the Calgary Stampeders offence a week ago.
With one more TD pass, Henry Burris will move into first place among Stampeders quarterbacks with majors thrown, passing the legendary Doug Flutie.
But with ample opportunities last week in Hamilton, Burris came up empty. Is there a jinx working against Burris?
"What are you talking about right now?" Burris said with a laugh. "We jinxed ourselves really. I've just been thinking about playing good football and playing our style. We need to make things happen.
"When you are the No. 1-ranked offence, you expect to play that way and that's what I'm upset about."
It will be a remarkable achievement passing Flutie when it does happen.
"It's good to be in one place for a long time to build a certain place with one team," Burris said.
