The Stamps have won five in a row against the Lions, including a 48-10 beat-down July 24 at B.C. Place Stadium. The last time these two teams met at McMahon Stadium was Nov. 15, 2008, when the home side won 22-18 in the West final.
131 -- Rushing yards for Stampeders RB Joffrey Reynolds the last time the two teams played. The Lions have since signed former Stamps LB JoJuan Armour to shore up the rush defence.
Stamps DB Dee Webb vs. Lions SB Paris Jackson -- The halfback makes his debut against one of the best slotbacks in the CFL and if the Lions swap sides, the chances are Geroy Simon will be the one testing the Florida product.
KEYS TO VICTORY
1. Run, run, run some more -- This is a matchup of the two worst rush defences in the CFL and two of the top four running backs. There is a good chance either team will run wild depending on who has the lead. Because of the horrible numbers, both the Stamps and Lions have made changes in recent weeks to fix the problems.
2. Hit Buck -- When Lions QB Buck Pierce gets rattled, he can get thrown off his game. He suffered a rib injury last week against the Toronto Argonauts. The Stamps revamped defensive line will have that challenge.
3. Cover teams -- Although he moved out a returner in a trade (Titus Ryan), Stamps head coach John Hufnagel said the biggest concern is covering the opposition returners. Ryan Grice-Mullen and Ian Smart are both dangerous if they find running room.
