First quarter

The Stamps took the first possession and got a couple of first downs before a pair of incompletions to Nik Lewis forced a punt.

When the Ticats got the ball, the newcomers on the Stamps defensive line caused pressure on starting quarterback Quinton Porter. Both Tearrius George and Charleston Hughes, who made their season debuts, forced Porter to fumble. The Stamps took a 7-0 lead on a Henry Burris one-yard TD run.

Porter scrambled for a first down and hit Arland Bruce with a couple of passes to set up a 35-yard Nick Setta field goal.

On a punt return, both Wes Lysack and Markus Howell stayed down after absorbing huge blocks.

The Ticats took possession, but RB DeAndra Cobb was stripped by Malik Jackson and Stamps S Milt Collins returned it for a 40-yard touchdown to put the visitors up 14-3.

Lysack returned to the game to intercept Porter in the endzone.

Second quarter

The Ticats made a huge play to start the frame, as Markeith Knowlton blocking a Burke Dales punt attempt.

The Ticats couldn't convert, as Jim Davis dropped DeAndra Cobb for a loss, but Nick Setta kicked a field goal to make it 14-6.

The Stamps had the second turnover of the quarter, as kick returner Titus Ryan fumbled a punt return at his own 25-yard line, but Calgary's defence held strong with Charleston Hughes getting a sack, forcing the Ticats into a field goal, which Setta missed for a single. The Ticats put together a 71-yard drive just before halftime but it stalled in the scoring zone and they settled for a 32-yard Setta field goal to make it 14-10 Calgary at halftime.

Third quarter

The defensive battle continued. The Ticats sacked Henry Burris twice to halt an early drive, while the Stamps got lucky as Arland Bruce dropped a deep pass.

The Stamps got things going late in the frame, getting a eight-play, 75-yard drive highlighted by a 38-yard reception by Jeremaine Copeland, who caught his 500th pass.

Sandro DeAngelis capped that drive off with a 19-yard field goal as the Stamps took a 17-10 lead after 45 minutes.

The Stamps kept the ball for 9:17 of clock time going into the wind.

Fourth quarter

The Ticats offence got into gear to start the final frame. Quinton Porter engineered a 68-yard drive and capped it off with a 17-yard touchdown pass to Arland Bruce.

That made it 17-17 with 12:20 left on the clock.

The Stamps defence made a huge stand, stuffing Ticats QB Adam Tafralis on a third-down gamble at the 52-yard line with 9:17 left.

Sandro DeAngelis missed a 43-yard field goal and Airese Currie returned it out 41 yards.

The Ticats quickly made them pay, as short-yardage QB Adam Tafralis hooked up with Bruce on a 37-yard touchdown pass as the home side took its first lead of the game, 24-17.
