Star-like night for Cornish

Jon Cornish delivered another House Call.

As in, he called his shot.

Late in the second quarter, Cornish told fullback Rob Cote he'd take it to the house when the chance came.

"He said, 'The first time I touch the ball, I guarantee it's a touchdown,' " Cote said.

"He did. That was two plays before he got the ball."

When his chance came, Cornish raced 28 yards for his third major of the season, which broke open a Labour Day Classic that ended 32-8.

"I had that speed. I've been working back from my injury at the beginning of the season, and this is the first game I've felt close to full speed," said Cornish, who missed the early part of the season due to a knee injury. On a day when Joffrey Reynolds put in a star-worthy performance -- 116 yards on the ground and another 58 receiving -- Cornish also lent a big hand.

He finished with five carries for 43 yards, plus the touchdown to give a one-two punch that was too much for the Eskimos to handle.
