HEAD-TO-HEAD

This is the first of three Battles of Alberta -- all within five weeks this season. The Stamps are 6-4 in their last 10 games against the Esks but 4-6 in the last 10 at Commonwealth Stadium. The Eskimos were 2-1 in the season-series last year.

KEY STAT

Minus-11 -- The Eskimos' turnover ratio, which includes no interceptions and just one fumble recovery by the defence.

KEY MATCHUP

Eskimos DT Dario Romero vs. Stamps C Tim O'Neill -- With veteran C Rob Lazeo out, O'Neill steps in front of QB Henry Burris and faces one of the nastiest players in the CFL in Romero.

KEYS TO VICTORY

1. Stop the run -- Even in beating the Blue Bombers a week ago, the Stamps couldn't contain the ground attack. The Eskimos have a one-two punch in rookie Arkee Whitlock and Canadian Calvin McCarty.

2. Attack the middle -- The Esks were dealt a blow to the defence with the loss of tenacious MLB Maurice Lloyd to a hamstring injury. This should improve RB Joffrey Reynolds' chances for big gains.

3. The air up there -- With QB Ricky Ray at the helm, the Eskimos have the second-best passing attack in terms of yardage, while the Stamps have the second-best pass defence.

KEY MOVES

Calgary -- DL Mike Labinjo (calf) will be replaced as a starter by DL Miguel Robede. WR Ryan Thelwell (hamstring) is back after missing one game. C Rob Lazeo (knee) will be replaced by C Tim O'Neill.

Edmonton -- LB Maurice Lloyd (hamstring) is out and replaced by LB Rod Davis.
