WHY THE STAMPS WON

They took advantage of turnovers and big plays to pile up a strong lead -- then held on as the Blue Bombers battled back in the second half.

KEY STAT

6 -- The number of yards of offence the Blue Bombers managed in the first quarter.

CATCH OF THE GAME

Going full speed and outracing a couple of Blue Bombers defenders, WR Brett Ralph hauled in a huge 62-yard bomb from QB Henry Burris to set up the Stamps' first touchdown in the opening quarter. A horse-collar tackle put them on the Bombers two-yard line before RB Joffrey Reynolds punched it in.

HIT OF THE GAME

Milton Collins was looking for blood in a game that featured a handful of heavy hits. The Stamps safety wins, as he ignored the overthrown ball and drove a shoulder into WR Terrence Edwards for a collision that left the Bombers receiver winded.

NOTABLES

DE Mike Labinjo left the game in the first quarter with a calf injury, and didn't return ... The Stampeders scratched LB Tristan Black, DB John Eubanks, DL Malik Jackson, and DL Juwan Simpson. Simpson had a sack against the Saskatchewan Roughriders last weekend, but was benched last night in favour of Justin Brown as part of the defensive-line shuffle ... A roughing the passer call against DT Tom Johnson in the second quarter wiped out what would have been CB Dwight Anderson's interception to make it four straight games with a pick.
