The Winnipeg Blue Bombers pulled a trick out of their sleeve on the opening kickoff, as Alexis Serna put the short boot into the hands of teammate Jonathan Hefney.
Starting quarterback Stefan LeFors then marched the team down for a 24-yard Serna field goal and an early 3-0 lead.
The Bombers kept moving the ball, but they got some help from the Stamps defence, when safety Milt Collins picked off a LeFors pass but was called for pass interference.
Two plays later, LeFors hit Terrence Edwards for an eight-yard touchdown pass and the home team took an early 10-0 lead.
The first bright spot for the Stamps was Titus Ryan returning the kickoff for 34 yards to give the offence good field position. And quarterback Henry Burris drove them 23 yards for a 45-yard Sandro DeAngelis field goal to cut the deficit to 10-3.
After a Burke Dales punt single cut the lead to one point, the Bombers took a 13-4 advantage on a 40-yard field goal from Serna.
The Bombers kicker then added a single when he missed a 47-yard attempt.
The Stamps then took possession, but Brett Ralph fumbled after making a catch, and LeFors made the Stamps pay just before halftime
The Bombers QB hit Arjei Franklin and Brock Ralph on first-down passes before connecting with Edwards for the receiver's second touchdown of the game -- this one from 12 yards out.
The host Blue Bombers took a 21-4 lead into the intermission.
An interception by Ike Charleton, as he picked off a Burris pass and returned it to the Stamps 28-yard line, sparked second-half scoring.
Former Stamps running back Lavarus Giles punched the ball in for his first career TD, upping the lead to 28-4.
On the drive, a brouhaha started after LeFors ran for four yards and was hit out of bounds by Stamps cornerback Brandon Browner. Players from both sides were pushing and shoving, but LeFors seemed to start it by getting into it with linebacker Shannon James.
Bombers' Ian Logan and Stamps rookie Davanzo Tate then traded picks, before Burris finally connected deep to Ryan Thelwell for 34 yards. Ken-Yon Rambo then made a first-down grab, before a Thelwell catch put them on the goal-line for a Joffrey Reynolds TD run.
The major cut the lead to 28-10, and a two-point convert attempt failed.
The Stamps offence started clicking in the final frame.
After finding Thelwell, Lewis and Jeremaine Copeland as passing targets, Burris plunged in from the 1-yard line to cut the deficit to 28-16. Burris then hit Rambo for a two-point convert and the Bombers lead was 10 points with 10 minutes left.
But when the offence got the ball back, Dorian Smith tipped a Burris pass that Siddeeq Shabazz picked off and returned for a touchdown.
After the Stamps turned the ball over on downs, Giles scored his second touchdown run to make it 42-18.
Stamps QB Barrick Nealy then came in and threw two late TD passes to Copeland and Teyo Johnson.
