LAST NIGHT IN REGINA

CALGARY STAMPEDERS 27

SASKATCHEWAN ROUGHRIDERS 19

THREE THAT STOOD OUT

1. R Titus Ryan -- Trying to win a job in a deep receiving corps, the rookie made a great grab on the sidelines, leaping up to bring down a pass from Drew Tate.

2. HB Keon Raymond -- Broke up a couple of passes, had five tackles and put his fingers on an interception that Dwaine Carpenter eventually made.

3. RB Derek Watson -- Although he fumbled twice in a span of four carries, the newcomer ran hard around and through would-be tacklers.

CATCH OF THE GAME

Stamps WR Ken-Yon Rambo wasn't exactly open but QB Henry Burris fired in a hard pass to the CFL's leading receiver of 2008. Despite having two defenders in his way, Rambo reached in and hauled down the pass for a first down.

HIT OF THE GAME

After Riders P Jamie Boreham mishandled a snap, Stamps DL Mike Labinjo came barrelling in at full speed. Boreham moved to the side and got off a punt, but Labinjo put a hard shoulder into his chest anyway.

OOPS

Rookie returner Cedric Thompson let a Jamie Boreham punt come to a dead stop two yards deep in the endzone, then picked it up and decided he was going to run it out. The move put the Stamps offence on the two-yard line.

NOTABLES

Stamps LB Lemarcus Rowell left with an injury in the first quarter. He didn't return, leaving rookie Tray Blackmon to take most of the snaps ... Roughriders OL Gene Makowsky left the game in the second quarter with a knee injury. He could be lost for up to a month.
