Henry Burris will start the game, just as he did the first exhibition contest, but the Grey Cup MVP will play a full half before exiting. With Barrick Nealy (groin) out, the second half will be divided up between former Roughriders pivot Drew Tate and veteran Arena Leaguer Matt D'Orazio.
Burris only played three series in the win over B.C., but he led the team to field goals on two of the drives. He sees this outing as a crucial tuneup for the regular season.
POSITIONS IN SPOTLIGHT
Middle linebacker -- With JoJuan Armour released yesterday, the focus will be on Lemarcus Rowell and Tray Blackmon. Rowell spent the 2008 season with the Stamps working as a defensive end, but he feels more comfortable at linebacker. Blackmon is a hard hitter who did well on special teams coverage against the Lions.
Defensive halfback -- Veteran Brandon Smith (knee) is out, leaving rookies Davanzo Tate, Ronnie Amadi and Anthony Ivy to stand out. Tate played the majority of the first pre-season outing and is leading the battle to stick around.
The team will take 62 players to Regina for the contest. RT Jeff Pilon (knee), LG Jesse Newman (ankle), QB Barrick Nealy (groin), DL E.J. Kuale (foot), WR Jackie Chambers (foot), RB Jon Cornish (knee), RB Demetris Summers (hamstring), DB Brandon Smith (knee), DL Tom Johnson (calf) and LB Shannon James (ribs) will likely sit out.
The regular season opens with a Grey Cup rematch as the Montreal Alouettes visit McMahon Stadium July 1. Kickoff is 8 p.m. (TSN, QR77 radio).
