The Calgary Stampeders are getting a new coach -- bet a quarter(back) on it.

Recently retired pivot Dave Dickenson is expected to be named a Stamps offensive assistant today at McMahon Stadium, according to a report yesterday.

Dickenson retired from the Stamps at the end of last season after suffering a concussion -- one in a long line of them -- during the Labour Day game vs. the Edmonton Eskimos.

The Montana native began his career with the Stampeders in 1997, was starting quarterback 1999-2000, then played two seasons in the NFL before returning to the CFL in 2003 with the B.C. Lions, where he won a Grey Cup in 2006. He re-joined the Stamps for 2008 to back up Henry Burris.
