Pat MacDonald is exploring his options south of the border, but the Stampeders' defensive lineman/long-snapper insists rumblings he's signed a deal with the Carolina Panthers are premature.

MacDonald, who hoisted the Grey Cup in November as a member of the Stamps, worked out for the Panthers and Seattle Seahawks earlier this week, but said yesterday he's yet to put his signature on an NFL tryout contract.

"I had two workouts and they went great, but I haven't signed anything," he said.

MacDonald, 26, is in his option year with the CFL club, meaning he's free to shop his services to NFL squads.

The University of Alberta grad joined the Stamps two seasons ago after a tryout with the New Orleans Saints.
