There was no winner or loser the last time these teams met. A 45-45 tie at McMahon Stadium Aug. 17 was the most exciting game of the season. The Lions won the first matchup at McMahon and can take the season series with a win tonight, even though these teams will meet back at B.C. Place Nov. 3.
18.4 -- The quarterback rating for Stamps starter Akili Smith heading into his first start. Five of Smith's 26 passes in relief of Henry Burris were picked off, a total of 19.2%.
Stamps RB Joffrey Reynolds vs. Lions LB Javy Glatt -- The Linos middle linebacker was injured early in the shootout tie and that hurt the Lions defence in trying to stop Calgary's star running back, who scored the tying touchdown.
3 KEYS TO VICTORY
1. Eyes on Akili -- Former NFL first-round draft pick Akili Smith makes his first start in Canada and will be looking to keep the offensive train on the tracks. He replaces Henry Burris, who was red-hot on passing for more than 300 yards in eight of his last nine games.
2. Jump on Joe -- Backed by their solid offensive line, power running back Joe Smith leads the CFL in rushing yardage, and he has a good history against the Stamps defence. In five games against Calgary, Smith averages 88 yards along the ground per outing and has scored seven TDs.
3. Smart decisions -- The Stamps would be wise to kick away from Lions KR Ian Smart, who leads the CFL in total yards.
