HEAD-TO-HEAD

The Roughriders manhandled the Stampeders 49-8 July 8 in Regina. Calgary won the season series last year 2-1, but the two clubs have split the last 10 and are 78-78-8 since 1946.

KEY STAT

0 -- Number of 100-yard rushers allowed by the Roughriders defence this season, including stopping the league leader Charles Roberts in consecutive weeks.

KEY MATCHUP

Roughriders DT Scott Schultz vs. Stamps C Rob Lazeo -- For years, these two players battled in practice, but now they get to face each other in a game. Lazeo came over in a trade with the 'Riders for RB Wes Cates, and is now replacing the injured John Comiskey at centre.

3 KEYS TO VICTORY

1. Contain the Wes Cates offence -- With receiver Matt Dominguez out because of a knee injury, the 'Riders will lean on running back Cates. If receivers are not open downfield, QB Kerry Joseph will dump the ball off to Cates. The Stamps defence will first try to stop Cates from gaining yards on handoffs.

2. Fire away at Chatman -- Former Stampeders DB Jermaine Chatman landed with the Riders a few weeks ago and now will start at halfback for his new club. He gets the task of trying to slow down slotbacks Jeremaine Copeland and Nik Lewis.

3. Send them Holmes unhappy -- Since the 'Riders have reacquired return specialist Corey Holmes, they have a threat on special teams. Stamps P Duncan O'Mahony will have to put the ball in places where Holmes can't run.

ROSTER MOVES

Calgary -- For the first time this season, there are no changes to the active 42-man roster. The scratches will be DL Miguel Robede, RB Ken Simonton, P Burke Dales and C John Comiskey (shoulder).

Saskatchewan -- To replace WR Matt Dominguez (knee), veteran Yo Murphy (Achilles) gets activated. The 'Riders also get LB T.J. Stancil back for the first time this season.
