SUN THREE STARS

1. Stamps WR Ryan Thelwell -- Recorded a career high -- and Labour Day record -- with 199 yards receiving and two TDs.

2. Stamps QB Henry Burris -- Four touchdown passes, two to Ken-Yon Rambo and two to Ryan Thelwell, and he only threw one interception.

3. Stamps DL Tearrius George -- Two sacks of Eskimos QB Ricky Ray in leading a ferocious pass rush.

WHY THE STAMPS WON

Their offence simply caught fire and took advantage of a beat-up Esks secondary. After a slow start, QB Henry Burris went 11-of-12 passing for 211 yards on three TDs drives in four possessions during a span that began at the end of the first half and continued into the third quarter.

CATCH OF THE GAME

Eskimos DB Lenny Williams reached out to snag a Burris pass that appeared to be sailing past both him and WR Jeremaine Copeland. The ball was about six inches off the ground when Williams got his hands on it and dragged it into his chest for the interception.

HIT OF THE GAME

After Eskimos K Sean Fleming missed a 37-yard field goal, Stampeders DB Brandon Browner had a brain cramp and drilled him to the turf with a hard shoulder to the chest when the ball went through the endzone. Browner was obviously flagged for illegal interference.

KEY STAT

517 -- The total offensive yardage by the Stampeders in a explosion of passing against a depleted Eskimos defence.

NOTABLES

Stamps WR Ryan Thelwell's first-quarter touchdown was his first major in Red and White, but he followed that up with his second one in the third quarter ... Eskimos DB Lenny Williams was having a great game until leaving with a knee injury suffered on a kickoff return.
