HEAD-TO-HEAD

The Lions won the first meeting of the season, 32-27 at McMahon Stadium July 28. The two rivals hook up twice more in Vancouver after this game. B.C. is 8-2 in the past 10 against the Stamps, but Calgary leads the all-time series (since 1954) 86-67-4.

KEY STAT

4 -- The number of turnovers by Stampeders quarterback Henry Burris the last time these two teams met. Burris and the Stamps have committed just one turnover in their past two outings.

KEY MATCHUP

Stamps LBs Scott Coe and Brian Clark vs. Lions RB Joe Smith -- In four outings against Calgary, Smith has averaged 6.2 yards per carry, including two 100-yard games. The Stamps defence is seventh in the league against the rush.

3 KEYS TO VICTORY

1. Run, Reynolds, run -- Nothing was more shocking about the loss last week in Montreal than Joffrey Reynolds finishing with four carries. The Stamps offence is based on a zone-read and opponents are focused on taking Reynolds away, but the star running back still needs more work.

2. Smart decisions -- Lions returner Ian Smart leads the league in kickoff average and has consistently given his offence good field position. But he dropped a ball last week and the Stamps cover teams will try to force another mistake while also maintaining containment on Smart.

3. Fierce Pierce -- Lions QB Buck Pierce admits he's nowhere close to 100% and plays mostly on adrenaline. He couldn't step into deep passes last week because of a toe problem, so the Stamps will try to take away short routes and force Pierce to try their defensive backs over the top.

KEY ROSTER MOVES

CALGARY -- DE Anthony Gargiulo return from his ankle injury, taking the place of Pat MacDonald and going back to his starting position.

B.C. -- WR Tony Simmons is back from his foot injury and will start at field wideout.
