Returnees:

K Sandro DeAngelis, P Burke Dales, PR Markus Howell, KR J.R. Ruffin, KR-PR Ken-Yon Rambo.

THE DEPARTED:

None.

NEW Arrivals:

Free agents P Duncan O'Mahony, KR Calvin Bannister, PR-KR Rob Andrews.

The Skinny:

With DeAngelis and Dales, the Stamps had the best kicking tandem in the league last season and Howell and Ruffin provided the most productive two-man return team. The group should only get better with a year more experience but the new blocking rules could benefit and hinder production. Howell and Ruffin should get more room to run but cover teams may have a tougher time getting to returners because they will face more blocks.

The Favourites:

DeAngelis is the only player in camp without someone else working out at his position. O'Mahony was brought in to push Dales into becoming a better placement punter and it has had a positive effect. Both punters are doing well throughout camp and seem to be even at this point. Ruffin has been hampered by a knee injury but Howell is looking strong in his role returning punts.

The Sleepers:

Newcomer Bannister is a speedster who took a missed field goal back about 110 yards during his first practice. The defensive back is on the small side but can jet, with his best time in the 40-yard dash about 4.3 seconds. He only returned kickoffs sparingly in college and was never involved on punts because he was too valuable on defence.
