The Calgary Stampeders are always scouting for talent with strong bloodlines and they've found that in Scott Ackles.

The son of B.C. Lions president/CEO Bob Ackles, Scott Ackles will be introduced today as the Stamps new vice-president.

Scott Ackles served as Lions vice-president of operations in 2006 as the team won the Grey Cup.

Ackles also served as GM of the highly successful 2005 Grey Cup festival, staged in Vancouver.

Ackles has worked with his father in the NFL with the Dallas Cowboys and the XFL's Las Vegas Outlaws and has a strong marketing background.

He will work under current Stampeders president/owner Ted Hellard and it is expected he will be groomed to one day assume Hellard's role.

The Stamps v.p. title was last held by Darrell Moir, who resigned in 2006.

Ackles met wife Theresa at the 1988 Calgary Winter Games where he was working with the host broadcaster on the opening and closing ceremonies.
