Game over

IAN BUSBY -- Calgary Sun

, Last Updated: 11:05 AM ET

SUN THREE STARS:

1. Stamps RB Joffrey Reynolds -- With another overhyped running back in town, Calgary's best offensive weapon shone through again. Reynolds scored a pair of touchdowns from one-yard out and finished with 151 total yards from scrimmage.

2. Stamps K Sandro DeAngelis -- Hit on field goals of 49, 41, 49, 34, 27 and 13 to have a perfect night in that category.

3. Stamps LB Brian Clark -- Picked off Damon Allen in the third quarter to set up a Joffrey Reynolds touchdown plunge and played his usual steady game on a great defence.

WHY THE STAMPS WON:

They held the Argos from getting into the score zone by pressuring quarterback Damon Allen and the offence didn't make any mistakes. When quarterback Henry Burris didn't move the ball early, kicker Sandro DeAngelis gave the Stamps a lead with long field goals.

GREAT CATCH:

The best grab didn't get counted. Argos receiver Andre Talbot was running deep along the Stamps' sidelines when the ball arrived behind his back. The Canadian receiver turned back across his body to snag the ball in front of Stamps S Trey Young but the play was negated on a penalty.

HUGE HITS:

Stamps DL Demetrious Maxie came back from the line of scrimmage to drill Ricky Williams as the Argos running back was heading towards the first-down marker. Maxie swatted the ball away from Williams' right arm and into Trey Young's paws but the Stamps' safety couldn't hold onto the fumble. Stamps LB Brian Clark drove hard into Bashir Levingston, knocking the Argos returner into his own man. Later, Stamps DB Sadrick Williams threw a hard shoulder into Argos RB Jeff Johnson's hip, knocking the player to the turf.

KEY STAT:

63 -- The yardage of a Joffrey Reynolds reception in the third quarter. The Stamps running back took a swing pass from QB Henry Burris and juked through Argos defender inside the 10 to set up his own touchdown plunge.

NOTABLES:

Stamps DB Coby Rhinehart picked off Argos QB Damon Allen in the first half for his team-leading sixth interception ... Stamps K Sandro DeAngelis tied his career-high with six field goals.
