The Winnipeg Blue Bombers defence wasn't the only group spellbound by Joffrey Reynolds' play Friday night.

The CFL was also impressed enough to name the Calgary Stampeders running back the offensive player of the week.

Reynolds picked up 162 yards rushing on 20 carries and another 55 yards receiving in the Stampeders 43-9 win.

Reynolds now sits atop the CFL rushing leaders with 1,175 yards and a 6.4-yard average.

Running backs coach Gino DiVincentis said Reynolds continues to impress with his evolution as a player.

"Joffrey is starting to understand our offence better this year because it was a new offence for him last year but, more importantly, he understands defences and where the hole is in a defence," DiVincentis said.

POINTS AFTER: Backup QB Danny McManus returned to practice yesterday after quitting work early Tuesday with back spasms ... DT Randy Chevrier left practice yesterday with a tweaked hamstring but is expected to return today ... OL Jeff Pilon (knee) was a spectator again yesterday.
