Game over

IAN BUSBY -- Calgary Sun

, Last Updated: 10:26 AM ET

SUN THREE STARS:

1. Stamps RB Joffrey Reynolds -- Reinforced that's he is one of the most durable backs in the league, getting near the 100-yard mark again, running a touchdown to ice it and catching a 48-yard pass in the fourth quarter.

2. Stamps DB Coby Rhinehart -- Was a monster in the secondary, picking off Kerry Joseph on a pass intended for Matt Dominguez and sacking the quarterback on a different play.

3. Stamps DL Rahim Abdullah -- Came unblocked off the edge to drill 'Riders quarterback Kerry Joseph and knocking the ball loose for a turnover. The hit set the tempo of the game for the Stamps.

WHY THE STAMPS WON:

They limited the silly mistakes, protected the football and wore down the Roughriders with long drives on offence and steady defensive play.

GREAT CATCH:

Stamps DB Coby Rhinehart hit 'Riders receiver Matt Dominguez as the ball was arriving, bouncing it up in the air and then bringing it down for a nice interception at the end of the first half.

HUGE HIT:

On the second play from scrimmage, Stamps DL Rahim Abdullah came unblocked from the edge for a free shot at 'Riders pivot Kerry Joseph, drilling him to the turf and creating a fumble, which was picked up Sheldon Napastuk.

KEY STAT:

0 -- The number of touchdowns the Stampeders defence allowed, the same number as the Roughriders defence did a week ago when it shut down Calgary at Mosaic Stadium.

BIG IMPACT:

Stamps RB David Allen played for the first time since the season-opener and caught the game's first touchdown, a five-yarder from Henry Burris.

NOTABLES:

Stamps K Sandro DeAngelis missed a 29-yarder in the first half, the first time he has failed to hit within 30 this season ... Stamps DB Coby Rhinehart sacked 'Riders QB Kerry Joseph early in the second half, the first of his CFL career ... The attendance was 34,319, about a third of which were wearing Saskatchewan green

UP NEXT:

Montreal Alouettes at Calgary Stampeders, Saturday, Aug. 12, 8 p.m., CBC.
