Joe Montford is looking as good in Green and Gold as he did in Black and Yellow.
But the transition from Hamilton Tiger-Cat to Edmonton Eskimo initially worried the outstanding rush end.
With one game remaining on the CFL season for the Eskimos, the 35-year-old is certainly pleased with his move to the West Division.
"A lot of times, you don't know how you will be perceived in a new locker-room," said the 11-year CFLer.
"Guys have told me they look up to me and the things I've done in the league.
"They seem to respect the things I say and the way I carry myself, not just on the field but off the field as well."
Once again, Montford is having a solid season, notching 10 quarterback sacks, 27 defensive tackles and four forced fumbles.
And Montford and his family are settling in quite nicely in Edmonton as well.
Earlier this summer, Joe and his wife Temikia welcomed their second daughter, Logan, to join four-year-old Mayson, who is now in pre-school.
Moving to Alberta after a decade in Ontario wouldn't have gone as smoothly if the five-time all-star and three-time defensive player of the year didn't have the support of his family.
"The biggest thing is if you have an understanding woman backing you, it's a lot easier," Montford said.
"My wife understands what my job requires of me to do. That's why I've been able to stay in the league this long.
"Initially, it was harder for me because of the thought of going somewhere else. Once I got here, the organization has been good to me. We're settling in like ticks."
