IAN BUSBY -- Calgary Sun

PLAYERS OF THE GAME:

OFFENCE -- Lions QB Dave Dickenson picked apart the Stamps defence once again, gaining more than 375 yards. The former Stampeder threw a touchdown pass to Antonio Warren and ran one in himself after threading the needle several times to his receivers. Warren scored three touchdowns and deserves a mention as well.

DEFENCE -- Lions DB Ryan Phillips picked off Henry Burris in the second quarter and had decent coverage on Stamps wideouts all night. Honourable mention goes to rookie DL Chris Wilson who scored a 61-yard TD on a fumble recovery.

SPECIAL TEAMS:

Stamps kick returner MarTay Jenkins powered into the coverage on his first-half returns, averaging 21 yards with a long of 29. The part-time receiver also caught two TD passes on offence for a decent night.

TURNING POINT:

Down by 11 in the second quarter and at midfield, Stamps QB Henry Burris left the ball unprotected while being wrapped up by two Lions defenders. The ball came loose and rookie Chris Wilson picked it up and scrambled 61 yards for a TD to make it 21-3.

CATCH OF THE GAME:

Right before halftime, Stamps WR Gerald Harris jumped to snag a Henry Burris pass between Lions defenders Barron Miles and Ryan Phillips and landed on his back for the first down.

- - -

HIT OF THE GAME:

On a free play in the fourth quarter due to a Stamps offside, Lions QB Dave Dickenson threw across the middle to SB Geroy Simon, who was drilled by Stamps DB Lawrence Deck. Simon laid on the turf for a minute before being helped off and didn't return.

NOTABLES:

The Stamps haven't won back-to-back games since July 11, 2003, when they beat Ottawa and Hamilton in consecutive weeks ... The Stampeders haven't been over .500 this far into the season since the 2000 campaign when they were 6-1.
