Kevin Glenn?

Football saviour.

Well, not exactly. In Hollywood terms, Glenn has always been Robin to a long lineup of guys eager — but often bungling — at playing Batman.

He almost took the Stampeders to a Grey Cup in 2012 before running into Ricky Ray’s Argonauts. Even then, he was Calgary coach John Hufnagel’s second choice for the job. There were a few unsatisfying years in Hamilton when much was expected, yet so little was produced.

There seemed, finally, an uncontested full-time gig when the fledgling RedBlacks took him in the draft — only to see them sign free agent Henry Burris.

Now, he goes to the B.C. Lions. Whether they need him; or he needs them more, is debatable. Perhaps it is a marriage of convenience.

The Lions needed to retool after a discouraging conclusion to the 2013 season. The team did win a playoff spot for the 17th consecutive season.
