Vancouver - The British Columbia Lions announced Monday that quarterback Travis Lulay has signed a contract extension.

Terms of the deal were unavailable per team policy.

"Travis' growth at quarterback puts our club in position to win a championship in 2011," general manager/head coach Wally Buono said. "His ability to lead the offense and perform in the pressure situations we played in last year down the stretch and into the playoffs should give our team and out fans a lot to be excited about."

Lulay threw for 2,602 yards and nine touchdowns while leading the Lions to a 4-5 record in his starts. British Columbia eventually lost in the West Semi- FInals.

The 27-year old Lulay has spent two seasons in the CFL, both with the Lions.
