Although newly-signed rookie running back Jamall Lee will be in the lineup for the Lions Sunday, he won't be playing a big role.

Coach Wally Buono said yesterday that the 2009 third overall CFL draft pick, who finally agreed to a contract with B.C. Monday, will need some time to adjust to the Lions' system.

"The first thing we want to do is get him up to speed on the running back position and then work him in on some special teams," said Buono. "I don't think it's smart to overburden him too much ... he's got a lot to grasp."

Lee, a Port Coquitlam native, signed with the NFL's Carolina Panthers in April and dressed in all four of their preseason games. He was released prior to the start of the regular season.

The 22-year-old former Bishop's University star says he's now ready to focus solely on helping out the Lions.

- Meanwhile, Paris Jackson says he feels healthy and expects to play this week after sitting out last Friday with a knee injury.

- The Lions were testing a wildcat formation with quarterbacks Buck Pierce and Casey Printers at practice yesterday. A wildcat formation involves two quarterbacks lining up on the same play.
