Leos start out vs. 'Riders
By BOB MACKIN, SUN MEDIA

The B.C. Lions return to the site of their last win to begin the 2009 regular season.

The Lions visit the Sask-atchewan Roughriders July 3 in the last game of the Canadian Football League's opening week.

B.C.'s home opener is a week later when the Hamilton Tiger-Cats visit B.C. Place Stadium on July 10.

The Lions meet their Western conference rivals three times each. The Grey Cup champion Calgary Stampeders visit July 24.

B.C.'s only home-and-home is against the Montreal Alouettes. The Als visit B.C. on Sept. 4 and the teams have a rematch on Sept. 13 in Montreal.

The league schedule kicks off with a Canada Day doubleheader featuring the Toronto Argonauts at Hamilton Tiger-Cats and Montreal at Calgary, a rematch of the 96th Grey Cup.

The CFL has moved its conference semi-finals and finals back to Sundays after suffering a TV ratings dip in 2008 when they were on Saturdays. The 97th Grey Cup is in Calgary on Nov. 29.
