When Barron Miles got in the way of Sean Fleming's second quarter punt attempt last Friday, it didn't get him closer to Gerald Vaughn's punt-blocking league record. But it did allow B.C. to eventually score a touchdown in a 29-9 win over the visiting Edmonton Eskimos.
It also allowed Miles to become CFL's special teams player of the week. Miles has 10 career blocked punts and needs two to tie Vaughn.
B.C. defensive lineman Brent Johnson was Canadian player of the week after three tackles, two sacks and a fumble recovery. Slotback Jason Clermont, with four catches for 84 yards and one TD, was Johnson's runner-up.
The Lions will visit the Saskatchewan Roughriders tomorrow in Regina.
