What's in a logo?

Angus Reid is partial to the B.C. Lions logo, not just because it's his employer and he wears it to work.

Big No. 64 studied art at Simon Fraser University, draws and paints for a hobby and runs a graphic printing company when he's not playing centre for the Grey Cup champions.

"A good logo for me is something that's not too complicated. I like simple and recognizable," Reid said. "Things that get overly complicated are usually hard to distinguish for the eye. And if there are too many colours, it becomes too difficult to see.

"You want to have a logo that is recognizable, universal and understandable."

Lions' logo is a classic because of its simple shapes and use of two colours, he said.

Reid's least-favourite?

"Some of our fans won't like this, but I'm not a big fan of any of the Canucks' logos they ever had."
