Stamp: Leos had bounty on him

Calgary Stampeders' defensive back Jermaine Chatman is blaming his broken forearm on a Jason Clermont "leg-whip."

The B.C. slotback called the accusation "offensive."

"I think he's just upset he got hurt," Clermont said yesterday. "If he thinks I'm a malicious player, then that's on him."

Chatman was injured in a fourth quarter collision with Clermont during Sunday's 32-25 Calgary win. He suffered a broken jaw in a 2005 collision with Clermont.

Leos' defensive lineman Brent Johnson scoffed at Chatman and a related allegation that B.C. players were offered a bounty to injure Stamps.

"I definitely know it wouldn't happen here," Johnson said. "Why would anyone want to hurt someone else?"

Head coach Wally Buono said quarterback Buck Pierce would start Saturday's home game with the Hamilton Tiger-Cats. Dave Dickenson returned to practice yesterday and will play in the second half. He missed three games because of a concussion.
