Casey Printers has two more chances to impress the Kansas City Chiefs, but don't expect him to return to the B.C. Lions in 2006.

Chiefs' quarterback coach Terry Shea told a Vancouver radio station yesterday that Printers could, at worst, end up on the practice squad.

"We're just going to be very patient with Casey. There's a lot of upside to him," Shea said on CKNW AM 980. "There's no one here at the Chiefs writing him off."

Printers has completed 11 of 22 passes for 101 yards and one interception in pre-season losses to the Houston Texans and New York Giants. The Chiefs host the St. Louis Rams on Saturday, but Printers will probably see more action in the fourth exhibition against the New Orleans Saints on Aug. 31.

"We just have to keep allowing him to develop," said Shea, B.C.'s quarterback coach in 1995. "He does not have the best protection at times and consequently he scrambles a little bit more than we would like."
