B.C. Lions returned to their practice facility in Whalley to clear out their lockers yesterday after losing Sunday's west final to the Edmonton Eskimos.

Owner David Braley may clear the team out of Whalley next year.

Surrey city hall turned down Braley's offer earlier this year to purchase civic land near the team's office and practice field.

Braley wants to renovate the Lions' facilities and redevelop the neighbourhood, which has become notorious for prostitution, drug dealing and homelessness.

Braley has since looked at more than 10 sites including Burnaby, Richmond and Vancouver and has a shortlist of three.

"If they can't accommodate my needs then we will purchase a property elsewhere," Braley said.

The Burlington, Ont.-resident is owner of Hamilton's Orlick Industries auto parts plant.
