Seven is heaven

Wouldn't eight be great?

The Lions' 7-0 start is the best in their 52 seasons. The team did, however, win seven and tie three in 1964 en route to their first Grey Cup win - 34-24 over the Hamilton Tiger-Cats. The Lions are 38-27-3 all-time against the Ti-cats. The teams met July 23 in Hamilton where B.C. won 28-22, despite Jamie Boreham's career-high five field goals for the home team.

Lions hit the 401

The Lions' 39-31 Aug. 12 road win over the Stamps was the B.C.'s 401st all-time victory. The franchise, founded in 1954, also has 437 losses and 23 ties.

Bad kitties, no Cup for you

A Ti-cats' return trip to Vancouver for the Grey Cup would be miraculous, to say the least. The Ti-cats are the only team with two Grey Cup wins at B.C. Place Stadium: 39-15 over Edmonton in 1986 and 32-21 over Calgary in 1999.

Back in black

The Lions will debut their new third jersey tonight. Along with the black shirts (trimmed with orange and white), they'll be wearing white helmets with the old, black Lions' paw. Each claw resembles one of the Lions' four Grey Cup victories.
