Of the many new faces who will line up in Toronto’s revamped defence, Delano Johnson is one name worth following.

In the cut-throat world that is pro football, nothing is guaranteed, everything must be earned and Johnson has added his name to the conversation as the Argos assemble their opening-night roster.

Thursday’s pre-season finale against visiting Hamilton provides players with their final shot at making an impression, the last opportunity to get reps and hopefully open more eyes, if they haven’t already been open.

Whether it’s on the defensive line, defensive secondary or at running back, there are jobs to be won.

At last count, there’s about 10 players on the bubble, a play here from making the team, a play there from being shown the door when the team trims its roster by Friday.

It’s an anxious time for many, a period of evaluation for the Argos coaching staff.
