Keon Raymond walked off the practice field Thursday evening having no idea if the CBA process was about to begin anew or finally come to an end.

Two hours later, a three-line news release from the CFLPA confirmed what CFL fans across the country had been waiting for: The players ratified the tentative CBA agreed upon last Saturday.

Raymond, the Calgary Stampeders player rep, was informed of the results on a conference call with reps from each team shortly after practice.

“I’m glad that it’s finally time to play football and this whole thing is done and out of the way so I can concentrate on trying to win a Grey Cup,” the seven-year veteran said.

“They allowed us to have our input on the conference call, and then (the CFLPA executive committee) confirmed that it had been ratified by the players so we can go on to the next step. They thanked us all for our time and efforts in the situation, and we went on about our merry way.”
