 Some would say it’s innovative.

 Others would say the CFL is taking video review too far by including defensive pass interference as a reviewable infraction.

Slippery slope? Maybe.

Or it could be a trailblazing move that forces other football leagues — both professional and amateur — to quickly follow suit.

In town Friday to chat with the Calgary Stampeders coaching staff about a host of potential rule changes that will be voted on by the CFL board of governors next Thursday, newly-minted Vice-President of Officiating Glen Johnson maintains accuracy and the good of the game is the driving force.

And the proposal, which was announced in March, hasn’t made it this far without hours upon hours of consultation and research.

Like or not, it’s going to attract all sorts of football eyes this season.
