BRADENTON, FLA. - Max Hall finished last season as Winnipeg's starting quarterback.

After new Bombers head coach Mike O'Shea anointed Drew Willy as the team's new No. 1 pivot in February, however, it means Hall will start this season no higher than No. 2 on the depth chart. If Hall was disappointed about his off-season demotion, the former Arizona Cardinals starter wasn't showing it on Sunday as the Bombers kicked off their three-day mini-camp at IMG Academy in Florida.

"(O'Shea) called me on the phone. We had a chat about it," Hall said. "I understand he's a new coach bringing in a new quarterback. I just asked for a chance to compete, and that's what he said he'd give me.

"I really like coach O'Shea. I like what he's bringing to the club, and he was honest with me and up front about it, which I appreciated."
