As recently as three years ago, quarterbacks who made their first CFL starts were basically being thrown to the wolves.

Either they weren't very good or they weren't being coached very well, because during a span between July 2007 and October 2010, pivots making their first starts were a dismal 3-14.

The times, they are a changing.
