Dear, Buck Pierce …
I like you, man.
I’ve met you a few times, watched you for years and feel you are a great guy.
It pains me to ask this, but please stop playing football. We can’t take it anymore.
By ‘we,’ I mean those people who don’t watch horror movies and speed by car accidents because we don’t like to see gore.
Every time you step into a collision, I cringe.
It’s not your fault. You didn’t ask for Brandon Isaac to drill his helmet into your face. But you did stand there, taking the hit to deliver that pass.
We get it. You play hard. You sacrifice yourself for the greater good. It’s enough. You have left 23-of-60 games due to injury. That’s almost 40% of the time!
You are a good quarterback. When you get to the second half this season, you have a 118.9 passer rating in the final 30 minutes. You rarely play in the second half, though.
You took a team to the Grey Cup last year. Without you this year, they sucked. You have nothing left to prove to anyone.
Just walk away while you still can.
