Canadian Olympic figure skater Joannie Rochette is unsure if she’ll compete at the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi, Russia.
Rochette, who's without a coach, told QMI Agency she’s running out of time to prepare for next winter’s Games.
"I have not yet officially announced my retirement,” Rochette said. “In fact, I do not feel the urgency to announce my retirement because I am still active in doing shows. Meanwhile, time passes and the day will come when I will not have much choice.”
The 27-year-old Quebecer captured the hearts and minds of a nation in 2010 when her mother suffered a heart attack shortly after arriving at the Vancouver Olympics.
Despite her mom’s death, Rochette skated to a personal best on the way to capturing a bronze medal.
“At my age, I'm a little old to continue anyway,” Rochette said. “It’s getting late to find (a coach).”
