U.S. figure skating champion Johnny Weir has confirmed the sport's worst-kept secret -- he's gay.

The 26-year-old Olympian reveals the news in his new autobiography, Welcome to My World.

"I'm not ashamed to be me," he wrote. "More than anyone else I know, I love my life and accept myself. What's wrong with being unique? I am proud of everything that I am and will become."
