Underhill, Duguay get iced

TORONTO - Skating legend Barbara Underhill and former New York Ranger Ron Duguay are the latest couple to be iced on "Battle of the Blades."

The couple were eliminated Monday from the CBC-TV reality series, which pairs seasoned figure skaters with ex-hockey players for weekly dance contests.

Forty-six-year-old Underhill and 52-year-old Duguay were among the two teams that received the fewest number of viewer votes following a Latin-flavoured episode.

The judges spared Christine Hough-Sweeney and former Toronto Maple Leaf Tie Domi from elimination after they also landed in the bottom two.

Five remaining pairs will compete for a chance to win $100,000 for the charity of their choice.

"Battle of the Blades" airs Sundays and Mondays on CBC-TV.

Producers say Underhill's charity, Bloorview Kids Rehab, and Duguay's charity, World Vision Canada, will each receive a $12,500 donation.

The five remaining pairs are: Shae-Lynn Bourne and Claude Lemieux, Marie-France Dubreuil and Stephane Richer, Jodeyne Higgins and Ken Daneyko, Jamie Sale and Craig Simpson and Hough-Sweeney and Domi.

Sunday's musical theme is slated to be R&B.
