The song remained the same for two Nepean-based pairs teams last night at the Skate Canada Junior Nationals in Ste-Foy, Que. For the second straight year, Veronique Lalonde of Patinage Gatineau and Bradley Price of the Nepean Skating Club posted a sixth-place finish at the junior nationals competition.

Last year, Lalonde, 16, and Price, 18, were sixth as pre-novices. They plan to skate junior next year.

The results are getting even older for their Nepean training partners, Cassandra Oakley and Eric Charette. They finished 11th -- the same number they've seen in three straight junior nationals appearances.

The first one came in pre-novice, the last two as novices. They'll skate junior next year, too.

Lalonde and Price, who were seventh in the free skate, missed gaining in the standings by 1.22 points. Their overall total was 94.32.

Meanwhile, Oakley, 15, and Charette, 19, were 0.89 points out of 10th (82.85). They wound up 10th in the free.

Other results on the final day of the competition:

- Nepean's Nathan Last placed 12th in the novice men's free skate (46.67), which allowed him to move up one spot in the final standings to 13th.

- Lauren Brown of Pierrefonds, Que., and Cornwall's Derek Green finished ninth in novice ice dance. They were ninth in the free dance with 35.71 points.

- With a 42.05 score, Tara Forstner of Alexandria was 10th in the novice women's free skate. But she had to settle for 11th in the overall standings, just 0.01 behind Jamie Ann Newman of Belmont's 66.39 total.
