Ross Pearson won his last fight.

Two of the judges at UFC Fight Night: Albuquerque may have awarded the victory to Diego Sanchez back on June 7, but that’s largely beside the point. They were wrong, and after two months of keeping quiet about the controversial decision Pearson finally spoke out this week.

“It was laughable,” Pearson told MMAJunkie.com this week. “Coming out of the Diego Sanchez fight, there was no one who could tell me that I didn’t win that fight. I was 100% confident that I won that. I don’t care what anyone else says about it.”

The issue for Pearson is that despite winning the fight in the court of public opinion, the fight still went down as a loss on his official record. That means he’s dropped out of the lightweight division’s top-15 and is a long way off from challenging for Anthony Pettis’ title.
